Overview
Jon has edited dozens of books as the Executive Editor/Publisher of Latah Books (one of the premier publishers in the American West) and as a veteran freelancer.
His editing successes include Spy Daughter/Queer Girl (California Book Award finalist and Lambda Award finalist), Twentymile (Georgia Book Award finalist), Freaks of a Feather (Eugene Sledge Award winner for best memoir), Beautiful Wounds (signed by W.W. Norton), and the Luke McCain mystery series (over 100,000 copies sold).
Other titles that have been heartily recommended by esteemed trade journals like Kirkus, Library Journal, and Foreword Reviews include:
*Atomic Pilgrim
*Woman with Eyes Closed
*Rowing to Baikal
*The Boy Who Fell to Shore
*The Stone Boys
*How to Walk with Steve
Jon has a wealth of experience at every stage of the editing process — developmental editing, line editing, copy editing, and proofreading. He also relishes helping authors navigate the oft-bewildering complexities of what comes next: querying, book design, publication, marketing, promotion, etc.
In addition to his work as an editor and publisher, Jon is a national award-winning journalist and the author of two novels: Deep Fire Rise (one of three 2019 Spur Award finalists for Best Contemporary Novel) and If We Get There.
