Overview
I’m a former Editorial & Design Director at an independent publishing house, where I evaluated and developed more than 40 titles per year across literary and contemporary fiction, memoir, and narrative nonfiction.
I now work with authors on developmental editing and manuscript evaluation, with a focus on upmarket and literary fiction that is voice-driven, character-centered, and emotionally resonant. I’m particularly drawn to work that explores identity, relationships, and personal transformation.
I focus on working with writers who craft coming-of-age stories, relationship-driven narratives, or contemporary fiction that sits between literary and commercial—projects where voice, interiority, and narrative control are just as important as plot.
My approach combines editorial rigor with a strong sensitivity to voice. I help authors clarify structure, strengthen emotional arcs, refine pacing, and ensure that the manuscript delivers on its core promise—without flattening what makes the work distinctive.
Because of my background in acquisition, I also provide insight into how a manuscript may be positioned in today’s market, particularly within the upmarket/book club space.
Depending on scope, clients receive detailed editorial letters, structured revision plans, and in-manuscript guidance designed to be both precise and immediately actionable. My process is collaborative, thoughtful, and tailored to the specific goals of each project.
