Overview
I’m a former Editorial & Design Director at an independent publishing house, where I evaluated and developed more than 40 titles per year across literary and contemporary fiction, memoir, and narrative nonfiction.
I work closely with authors on developmental editing and manuscript evaluation, specializing in voice-driven, character-centered fiction and memoir with strong emotional depth. I’m especially drawn to stories that explore identity, relationships, personal transformation, and the complexities of modern life. I’m particularly interested in stories with nuanced emotional dynamics, complicated relationships, and a strong sense of voice.
Many of the projects I work on fall into the upmarket or book club space—stories that balance literary sensibility with narrative momentum, and where emotional resonance matters just as much as plot.
My editorial approach is rigorous, collaborative, and highly attentive to voice. I help authors strengthen structure, sharpen pacing, deepen character and emotional arcs, and bring greater clarity and cohesion to the manuscript while preserving what makes the work distinctive.
Because of my background in acquisitions and publishing strategy, I also offer insight into how a manuscript may be positioned within today’s market, particularly for authors pursuing traditional publication.
Clients receive detailed editorial letters, structured revision guidance, and in-manuscript feedback designed to be clear, actionable, and encouraging. I believe the strongest editorial relationships are built on trust, honesty, and a shared investment in the story the author is trying to tell.
