Overview
Hello, I'm John and I have been making maps for print for 25 years. I gained a degree in Cartography & Geography and went on to work for Dorling Kindersley where I ended up designing the specifications for whole atlases as well as working on the very first four Eyewitness Travel Guides-London, New York, Paris and Rome. After almost a decade I left DK and started working for myself. My main client was The Geographical, the monthly periodical for the RGS, but I soon acquired more clients and over the years have worked with many magazines, publishers and authors like The Sunday Times, Bloomsbury Publishing and Christopher Howse.
I offer a bespoke mapping service. With a brief from you detailing content, final map print dimensions and some idea of the style you would like I can quickly give an estimate or quote. The more information you can give the more accurate the costing. Then I can create a couple of designs of the map/s as first drafts and then proceed as you see fit. Please do see my portfolio of maps at the bottom, there are many different styles I can illustrate.
