Joanna MacKenzie – Editor

At NLA, I have grown a list of adult and young adult projects specializing in mysteries and thrillers, women's fiction, literary fiction, and coming of age stories. A hands-on, detail-oriented editor who challenges writers to push their stories to really stand out, I have placed projects with all major publishing houses in the US both in preempts and at auction.

-Working with authors to edit manuscripts at various stages of development; representing projects across a wide range of genres to editors and producers; negotiating contracts; and maintaining author relations and contacts within the publishing industry.
- Managed team responsible for identifying, re-conceptualizing, and implementing new, company-wide social media strategy.
-Spearheaded initiative to launch an ePub offering to agency clients.

Scheduled readers for the reading series and managed and distributed promotional material. Featured readers included Gillian Flynn, Joe Meno, and Carol Anshaw among others.
