Overview

I have been an illustrator for about 19 years. My work has appeared in award winning picture books, magazines and wallpaper. I also love to write and illustrate my own comics and paint ridiculous things.

The enchanting, natural environment of the Pacific Northwest is a huge source of inspiration for my work, finding its way into my mythical creatures, forested backgrounds, and the always necessary mushroom. People are my other favorite sources of inspiration, and the real characters I encounter in everyday life and throughout my travels always find their way into my work as well.

My work is digital, but I often use watercolor textures to give it a traditional feel.

How do you stay on top of projects while working on the go?

I downsized my equipment several years ago, and now mainly work on an iPad with an Apple Pencil. This compact setup has really helped me feel mobile, and I have been able to take my work with me while traveling, going to coffee shops etc…I love the freedom of not being bound to just my home studio.
