Jenny Page

Jenny Page – Editor

Hello! I’ve worked on bestsellers by Elton John, Candice Carty-Williams, Erica James and Louise Pentland. Love crime and women's fiction.

Overview

I am a meticulous copy editor and proofreader with more than twenty years’ experience. I’ve worked in London on the editorial staff at Penguin, Orion Books and Macmillan on a wide range of fiction and non-fiction titles, and have been freelance for over ten years.

I love opening a Word document containing an author’s new novel – perhaps debut novel – knowing that I have the skills and experience to make it the best it can be.

Or unwrapping a set of page proofs, looking forward to the job of making them perfect, error-free.

Or speed-editing a non-fiction title that has been written to respond to a unique set of circumstances, such as a book for parents who, during the COVID-19 pandemic, have found themselves having to direct their children’s education from home.

I’ve worked on books by bestselling fiction authors such as Candice Carty-Williams (Queenie, proofread), Louise Pentland (Wilde Like Me and Wilde Women, copy edits), Mari Hannah (Without A Trace, proofread) and Erica James (Song of the Skylark, proofread).

My non-fiction work has included Elton John’s autobiography Me (proofread), The Guilty Feminist by Deborah Frances-White (copy edit), Bedsit Disco Queen by Tracey Thorn (copy edit) and 30-Minute Meals by Joe Wicks (copy edit). I proofread Deborah Orr’s memoir Motherwell and copy-edited Dear Cancer, Love Victoria by Victoria Derbyshire.

I’ve also worked on more serious subject non-fiction such as Morality, Autonomy, and God by Keith Ward (proofread), Who Lost Russia? by Peter Conradi (copy edit) and How Money Got Free by Brian Patrick Eha (proofread).

I understand what it means for you to let go of your labour of love – your book – and entrust it to a professional. I not only have the skills and experience to take your book to the next stage, but also the ability to be sensitive to your unique voice and way of doing things.

I’ve been privileged to work on not just the debut novel, but for some authors, their second and third books. I’d love to talk about working on yours.
