Overview
I have worked on many New York Times bestsellers and my authors have received positive reviews in Publisher's Weekly, Midwest Book Review, and more.
My specialties include self-help, business, inspiration, parenting, and cookbooks. I have also edited several Christian books and I am proficient in double-checking scripture for consistency and clarity.
One part of my job was to sort through the "slush pile" of incoming book proposals to find the publishing gems and work with literary agents to contract the most marketable books. Therefore, I know what editors look for in a proposal and what you need to hook their interest--and keep it!
I collaborated directly with all contracted authors to help spark their creativity, refine their ideas, and organize their content for clarity, overall flow, and readability.
Once their manuscripts were finished, I provided line edits and proofreading to ensure they were fine-tuned, free of errors, and ready for publication on time.
In addition to helping authors make their books the best they can be, I authored my own book (a humorous guide to germs that Publisher's Weekly called "witty and thorough"). From this experience, I learned firsthand that writing and publishing a book is a marathon not a sprint. I would be honored to help you get your book across the finish line.
