Jaime Coyne – Editor

Experienced editor of bestselling and award-winning books, specializing in narrative nonfiction, thrillers, and young adult. 7+ years' exp.

Overview

I began my publishing career in Marketing at Macmillan in 2012 and later transitioned to Editorial at St. Martin’s Press, where I worked on an eclectic list of fiction and nonfiction, including a number of New York Times and national bestsellers. I went on to focus on nonfiction at Center Street, Hachette Book Group, but also edited ALA’s 2019 W.Y. Boyd Literary Award for Excellence in Military Fiction during my time there. In 2019, I decided to transition to freelance editing full time. I have edited a wide range of books in my career, from military thrillers to celebrity memoirs to business books.

Every author has their own creative process, and my job is to facilitate that process to the best of my ability. I'm happy to discuss how to make the author-editor relationship work best for you, whether that involves brainstorming phone calls, multiple rounds of developmental editing, or intensive line editing.
