Jael Fogle

Jael Fogle – Editor

Experienced production editor and proofreader, specializing in non-fiction YA, middle, and children's books.

Overview

A sharp-eyed production editor and proofreader who loves all things non-fiction. In my 5+ years working as a production editor at Scholastic, the leading publisher of children's books, I have worked on a variety of titles, including novelties like owl puke, science kits, joke books, stationery kits, and chapter books. For the past two years, I have worked exclusively on non-fiction picture books and narrative non-fiction, including Dark Sky Rising by Henry Louis Gates.

As a production editor and proofreader, it's my job to make sure that the spelling, grammar, and artwork errors are caught. I want to make sure that even the smallest detail is consistent throughout the text and artwork. Is your main character wearing a green jacket on page 5 and a blue jacket on page 20? That's something I want to find before your book goes out into the world. If there are any questions, please feel free to contact me. Happy writing!
