Natasha Hodgson – Editor

Editor, copyeditor and proofreader with ten years' experience at leading publishing houses and freelance, working on Fiction and Non-Fiction

Overview

If you're looking for an insightful editor or eagle-eyed proofreader, I'd love to hear from you! With 10 years' editorial experience at leading Fiction and Non-Fiction publishing houses and as a freelance editor and proofreader, I’ve worked on an exciting range of storytelling. Whether advising on the bigger picture – exploring characterisation, plot and structural edits – or putting spelling, grammar and punctuation under the microscope, I always bring my can-do, attentive outlook, my creativity, my passion for writing and my eye for detail to every project.

I’m lucky to have worked at an amazing list of publishing houses including Bookouture, Quercus and Canongate and with brands, personalities and authors. I’ve loved being a commissioning editor, project manager, structural editor, line editor or proofreader on a range of Fiction and Non-Fiction: from commercial fiction – such as women’s crossover, thrillers and saga series – to literary translation, from memoir and autobiography to self-help and pop culture. I've proofread UK, American and Australian manuscripts, so I'm confident and comfortable working in either UK or American English.

I’m highly communicative and highly skilled, thoughtful and thorough, flexible and hardworking and always deliver a high standard of work. But most of all, I find immense job satisfaction working closely as a team on making a book truly shine. So let's get writing!
