Miranda Hill – Editor

Miranda is a lifelong nerd and is interested especially in the mystery, fantasy, science fiction, and horror genres.

Overview

With more than five years experience at Penguin Random House, I've worked on a multitude of genres across the fantasy, horror, mystery, and even romance spaces. I'm constantly looking for stories that show me an underrepresented perspective, narratives that blend the lines between genre, and LGBTQ+ authors.

When working with authors, the most important aspect I want the artist to understand about the way I work is that we're a team. The author has the best idea of what they want their vision to be and it is my job to clarify that vision. Oftentimes the way that I describe a manuscript is a puzzle that the author and I work on together. Collaboration is discussion, not dictation. So let's work together to strike the balance between your artistic vision and what the market is looking for.

I'm very excited to work with you, and as always, am happy to discuss alternate ideas and ways to strengthen your manuscript. Let's be a team together, and make your work as strong as it can be.
