Overview
My style of book cover design is recognisably bright, clear and colourful with often clear illustrations and patterns and creative lettering. My designs are elegant and balanced but always have something that make the book 'pop'.
I have over a decade of experience in book design and work for both publishing houses and self-publishing authors worldwide, creating book covers that are attractive for your audience and that do justice to your content. My style fits different genres, both fiction and non-fiction, but it's especially suited for books that have a positive atmosphere or message as my style is quite 'bright'. I love working on books that help us in the direction of love, peace, justice, health and happines.
If you work with me you can expect creativity, punctuality / ordered process, clear communication and a result you are happy with. It's really helpful if you are clear and specific about what you do and don’t like. Also I'm always open for clients that provide some inspiration pieces upfront to help guide me as to what you are looking for. Expect one to two rounds of revisions before you land on the perfect cover.
For book cover designs and illustrations I work with different mediums or a combination of them:
• Vector based illustrations: the majority of my work is made in this way. You can recognise this type of work by the clean, clear lines and flat surfaces.
• Hand-made look of brush, pencil and watercolor illustrations (made digitally)
• Stock images
• AI generated images (still new to this)
I deliver a PDF ready for print with the right sizes for your paperback or hardcover book. Additionally, I can also create a 3D mock-up image for your book presentation, 2D images of the front and back, an audiobook cover and e-book cover.
Don't hesitate to get in touch with questions, ideas, or just any inquiry. I look forward to talking with you about your book, and how I can help you with a compelling cover and/or illustration.
I'm looking forward to hear from you and maybe work with you!Services

Work experience
Self-employed
Since 2012 I am a graphic designer and illustrator, working mainly for publishing houses and authors, creating book covers, book interiors and illustrations for books. I've also published two children's books. My clients include Samsara books, Unieboek | Spectrum, Van Goor, Nw Amsterdam and others.
Mijksenaar
I had the joy to work for Mijksenaar, a world renowned design firm based in Amsterdam specialized in wayfinding design. I worked on complex projects for clients such as airports and railway stations to design and execute the signs, so that people can easily find their way. The essence was to create very clear communication design, a skill I still use today as a book designer
