Overview
(he/him) I am a freelance illustrator, with a reputation for cultural sensitivity and an openness to listen and learn which has garnered a large body of work in collaboration with Indigenous, and LGBTQIA+ communities. My work spans several critically acclaimed graphic novels, including The 'Reckoner Rises' (Indigenous superheroes), 'A Girl Called Echo' (Métis history), 'A Blanket of Butterflies' (2016 Eisner Nomination), art for a short story in 'Marvel Voices: Pride #1' (2022 LGBTQ+) and 'Last Breeds' (post-apocalypse/science-fiction).
Sequential Storytelling (ie: comic books) are the bulk of my work, but I've also worked on covers, conceptual art and storyboards, fictional and non-fiction maps, lettering comics ('A Girl Called Echo'), and colouring comics ('Reckoner Rises Vol. 3'), maps, cover illustrations, workshops and mentorships. My work is predominantly done digitally: working on a Cintiq, I utilize apps like Adobe Photoshop Illustrator to create art. The bulk of my work on graphic novels has been in collaboration with an Indigenous author. Utilizing my artistic skills I help bring their written work into a visual medium. I keep communication open, and try to respond quickly. I share the various stages of my work with my clients, all the while keeping myself open to feedback and editorial changes.
