Overview
I am an Italian illustrator, born in Sicily and based in Milan.
I have always been passionate about stories told through pictures, and began my professional career as a cartoonist and draughtsman of political comics for magazines and newspapers.
Over the years I also studied and explored the world of animation, and with a friend of mine I started a small studio that produces commercial and informative cartoons.
I entered the world of children's books when my first grandson, Leonardo, was born and immediately fell in love with them.
I like the idea that from each word, from each dialogue, I can extract dozens of elements that will help me enrich the story and entertain my young readers.
That's what I do for you here on Reedsy when we work together: Starting from your visions and intuitions, I complete the creative process and add the visual dimension to the world you have imagined.
My approach is very versatile: I am able to adapt my style to the narrative needs and genre of the story to be illustrated.
My strength is acting and expressing characters: I like to bring them to life to make their stories and actions believable, entertaining and memorable.
I am particularly drawn to surreal stories, daring events, and musical and poetic narrative rhythms.
In my gallery you will find internal pages from the books I am working on at this time: there are character studies and full illustrations, but also some research sketches and stylistic tests.

Illustration is often the most effective tool for synthesizing and relate a specific project or a brand identity or a vision.
Especially in recent years my illustrations helped my clients to improve or strengthen their communication with the audience, making their stories more emotional and imaginative. Starting with the Amaro Averna Spiritheque campaign, who has decided to tell the story of its product in an almost fi ctional way, to the micro-campaigns of Almo Nature, who wants to distinguish itself from its competitors by underlining the strength of its involvement in the most urgent ecological battles.
