Germán Blanco – Designer

Hello, my name is Germán Blanco and I've worked as a graphic designer for over 10 years. I had the opportunity to illustrate my first children's book over 5 years ago, and since then I've also been pursuing a true passion: illustration. Now I work as an art director, designer, and/or illustrator on picture books, chapter books, graphic novels, drawing books, gift books, and more! I’ve designed covers, illustrated interior pages, designed interior pages including typesetting, and prepared files for print, managing the print production process. I've been fortunate to work with a range of authors, including a Grammy award-winning band, and have even won a few awards myself for my work (including Parents Magazine book of the year for my first illustrated picture book, When Pencil Met Eraser).

I’ve worn many hats in the publishing industry so I have the experience to offer you in-depth knowledge in the field. My love for comic strips has influenced my unique illustration approach and humor, but I enjoy experimenting with a wide range of styles and am always up for new and exciting challenges. I work fast and I like to discuss the process to make sure I’m the right fit for the project. You can see my portfolio to have an idea of my style and what I bring to the table. I value professionalism and don't miss deadlines. I’m always looking for fun/humorous illustration work, be it comics or picture books, but I’m open to different opportunities as well.
