Felicity Alexander – Editor

Hi! I started my career at Orion Children's Books and from there I moved to Bonnier as Senior Commissioning Editor where I commissioned and worked closely with children’s authors and illustrators, including Robert Muchamore, Martin Brown, Caroline Lawrence and Rachel Burge. I then moved to a small independent publisher called Welbeck in 2021 where I set up a new children's fiction list, publishing new and established authors, including Skye McKenna, MA Bennett and Mark Dawson. Most recently I have worked at Hachette Children's Group as an Editorial Director, managing bestselling authors and brands.

I love working with children's authors at all stages of their career, helping them tell the best story they can and bring it to market in the most effective way possible. I can help you with development editing, copyediting or proofreading. I particularly like supporting authors with character development, pacing, worldbuilding and story structure - as well as fine-tuning on a line by line level. When I edit I will usually mark comments and notes on the text as well as giving overarching feedback, so that writers can see any suggestions in situ.
