Emma Carter – Editor

I now use my decades of experience in editing and typesetting to provide an efficient and accurate service for clients. I can take raw copy and turn it into a professional piece, whether that is for submission to a scientific journal or for direct publication online. I also have experience in creating accessible PDFs, posters and other items.

I managed the production of a range of research from humanitarian and international development papers to climate and finance. I also wrote text for the publication landing pages.

Copy-edited and typeset a variety of scientific and medical journals, ranging from complex molecular biology texts to clinical practice titles, as well as creating posters, calendars and similar items.

Copy-edited the Nature Reviews Genetics journal.

I managed workflows and copy-edited the life science journals – Proceedings of the Royal Society B and Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society B. This is where I learnt to edit; the Royal Society was looked upon as the authority in scientific editing.
