Overview

I am passionate about storytelling for young readers. Whether it's a picture book with rhythmic rhyming and underlying messages of friendship, an illustrated middle grade novel featuring a laugh-out-loud adventure, or a young adult coming of age story with complex layers of family and self-identity, I have a proven track record of shaping commercial yet heartfelt stories. With eight years of experience in the publishing industry, I know how to fill white space in the market and have a keen eye for what resonates with an audience.

In addition to overall development of characters and plot that remain true to your writing voice, I am also very detail-oriented and deliver a thorough line-by-line edit. I understand the joys—and challenges—of writing and revising a book and can offer an encouraging voice throughout the process. I enjoy getting to know my authors and am open to discussing ideas and concepts while figuring out how they fit into the larger story.

Your readers are waiting for the book only you can write, and I can't wait to help you share this gift with the world.

Wow! I'm absolutely blown away. Emeli went above and beyond in her editorial assessment. She took the time to dive deeply into the material, to understand the delicate nuances and emotional backbone of the story. Her feedback was clarifying and constructive, and she was professional and punctual to boot. Great experience, would definitely work with her again.
