Overview

Since 2000, I’ve worked on a huge range of books for the children's/ YA market, from young colour projects to middle-grade fiction to YA that reaches into the adult market. I've been in senior roles at major publishers including Penguin Random House, Simon & Schuster and Scholastic, editing high profile literary and commercial authors for markets in the UK and US, as well as working on creative development and IP generation projects.

I’ve edited books that have achieved great UK sales, international rights sales, and gone on to win significant awards, including the Carnegie Medal, the Waterstone’s Book Award and the Marsh Award for Literature in Translation.

Authors find me creative, supportive and thorough, and I love working with people to help them write the best book they possibly can.

Elv’s critique was so perceptive and on-target that, without knowing that I had cut anything, she zeroed in and identified precisely those missing bits. She also suggested that I eliminate a subplot—the par...
