Qualified translator, based in London, with more than 30 years' experience in the translation sector. I translate English into Spanish and Spanish into English, and have also worked as an assessor, proofreader, item-writer and moderator for Examination Boards. Born and raised in Spain, I completed a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in the UK where I moved in 1992. Hobbies: reading and writing (published as an author), travelling and photography.

Work experience
OCR and Asset Languages, Cambridge
I worked for OCR, The University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations, UCLES, The World of Work, and Asset Languages (which are all different divisions of Cambridge University) in different capacities, mainly as a Spanish translator, proofreader, item-writer, and assessor for their oral and listening exams, as well as a Spanish moderator for their speaking exams.
I worked for them on all levels of Spanish, from beginner up to proficiency, attending work meetings and professional development events on a frequent basis.
Bilingual Fiction Limited
English into Spanish translator of numerous stories for print and downloadable books. As well as translating, I wrote stories for their Spanish monthly website too.
Babel Language Consulting
I worked for Babel as a technical translator and proofreader until the company ceased trading - for a period of approximately sixteen years. Most of my work involved environmental and scientific translations.
Kluwer Academic Publishers
For many years I worked for Kluwer Academic Publishers and Lancaster Publishing Services as a freelance translator and researcher of their monthly volume on Tropical Animal Health and Production. My role was to be in charge of English into Spanish translations of their scientific abstracts and it involved a considerable amount of research. This position finished when the company's headquarters moved to India.

I worked as a researcher and translator (Spanish into English) for this publishing company in Spain during 1991-1992. We produced a comprehensive guide with regards to activities and festivities in Seville for the Ministry of Tourism. During this time I also worked as a freelance writer for a Maxwell International Contract Publishing guide, including English into Spanish translations.
