Overview
I began my career at HarperCollins in London, where I worked for seven years in the production department of the children’s division, eventually managing the production of high-profile brands like Dr Seuss and The Chronicles of Narnia. I was involved in creating all kinds of book-related products, from pop-up books to decks of activity cards, from anniversary hard-case editions to mass-market paperbacks. Later production experience included working at Pearson Education in Oxford, Elektra Media in Manchester, and the Central Office of Information in London.
Outside my stints in the publishing industry, I've taken time out to be a full-time author and workshop facilitator, working especially in the field of interfaith. This has often involved using the creative arts to build bridges of appreciation and understanding across different faiths and cultures, from workshops contemplating sacred poetry from different religions, to representing the whirling dervishes at events such as the Bradford Literature Festival. If your project has a religious or spiritual theme, I may have subject knowledge or experience you will find useful.
Working with me is a creative process offering you a range of options adapted to your vision and target audience. Because of my all-round experience, we can work with an awareness of the entire production process, through editing and design to the final print or digital product.
