Dora Doubles – Designer

Hello! My name is Dora and I’m illustrator who loves to create memorable characters and capture the magic of your story with visual means.

I love to illustrate stories about quirky animals, rebel kids and seniors. I tend to work with limited yet vivid color palettes. You would recognize me for strong focus on storytelling and humorous twists. The best compliment I can get is when reader grins or burst out with laughter seeing my art combined with text.

I studied product design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw and after 10+ years of experience in creative business working on a huge range of projects I decided to dedicate to kidlit illustration.

When creating a book I value close illustrator / author relationship. I want to understand your story, characters and theme to represent your vision well, meaning I will start our collaboration with a conversation. After having set deadlines and details I will update you with primary sketches, character design. Later with a storyboard and once we agreed on the visual line of the story, I’ll create final illustrations. Your remarks are always welcome, as I love to involve the author in the process as much as I can.

My work is handmade either with classic or digital media. I design covers and thanks to my product design experience I can also deliver the interior design. With background in linguistics I’d love to work with German language too.
