Daniel Vieira

Daniel Vieira – Translator

Translating for 40 years in most areas (335+ books), including many best-sellers. I stay in touch regularly and get back to you quickly.

Overview

My very first published book was a classic from Peter Norton ("Inside the IBM PC") in 1986, and since then, I've been working on 335+ books, translated and published by mainstream publishers in the country. My areas of expertise range from computer science, physics, and engineering to mathematics, literature, religion, and statistics. My language pair is English<->Portuguese.

**** All my offers include proofreading as part of the job. ****

I can generally send a quote within 24 hours and a proofread manuscript no more than one week after starting the translation, with partial translations as often as needed until the whole job is finished. I'll be glad to receive your feedback and make any necessary changes. I can be reached by email or text whenever you need, and throughout the translation process, I'll keep you posted about any issues that may arise.

So that you have the best return on your work and reach the widest audience, I am prepared to adapt your work to the target audience, not just performing a literal translation.

Since then, I have received several job offers from that and other publishers (Pearson, McGraw Hill, Berkeley, Microsoft Press, Makron Books) to translate their books, from small to huge, for 38 years since the beginning. I have also translated texts for other companies, such as GoGlobal, Link Translations, and Eurabic Translations, using different translation and quality assurance (QA) tools.

“Daniel Vieira translated my novel The Slightest Mistake (EN→PT) and did an excellent job. He kept the techno-thriller tone intact while localizing terminology for Brazilian readers—especially aviation and military terms—without losing clarity. Communication was prompt and professional, and he ha...
