Pennsylvania Counseling Services, Inc.
During my time at PCS, I worked closely with the author and other editors to take manuscripts from first draft to publication, beginning with a content assessment. For nonfiction manuscripts, I focused on structure, clarity, tone, syntax, and language. For children’s fiction manuscripts, I focused on plot, dialogue, and characters. I then implemented all necessary changes through several rounds of substantive editing, line editing, and copyediting, referring back to the author to incorporate his changes as well.
In total, I edited 15 books for multiple authors:
- 9 in our adventure series for young boys
- 2 in our middle grade fantasy series for girls
- 2 mentoring books for young men
- 1 self-help book on fathering
- 1 workbook for a video series on identity

Tasks included proofreading, copyediting, audio-proofing, and fact-checking for various education materials.
