Craig Silver

Craig Silver – Editor

I'm a skilled editor with decades of experience in New York's magazine and book publishing industries. I'm proud of being "an old pro."

Overview

I worked as a copy editor for Forbes magazine on its print and online editions as well as on its books and specialty titles. Prior to that I was at Kensington, the book publishers, as a copy editor, reader and editorial assistant. In the past I've been an overall editor at websites, magazines and newsletters. I have expertise in the A.P. Stylebook and the Chicago Manual of Style. Other skills include expertise in Microsoft Word, Adobe, InDesign/InCopy, Google Docs, WordPress and Wix.

I’m addicted to words. I am excellent at bringing prose to its highest level, ferreting out errors in word choice and detecting logical gaps and inconsistencies in content. I will help you maintain tone and style, and be grammatically faultless. I am sensitive to your goals and know how to honor your intentions as a writer. I'm amiable and industrious, used to strict deadlines from multiple time zones. My specialty for the past twenty years has been business writing, but I've also edited books about pop culture. Recently I combined the two, roaming outside of publishing to develop an Off-Off-Broadway musical about-- internet start-ups.

I realize that writing can be ferociously demanding--but it can also be fun, even, when it all falls into place, exhilarating.
