Marta Costa – Designer

Hello! I’m Marta, a children’s book illustrator from Barcelona, Spain, and I’ve spent over a decade bringing stories to life for young readers.

Coming from a family of artists, I’ve always loved drawing. After 11 years working as a graphic designer, I followed my passion for illustrating children’s books. Since 2008, I’ve illustrated over 120 titles for publishers in Spain, the UK, Germany, Korea, and the US, focusing on stories for children aged 0 to 6.

I specialize in creating colorful, playful illustrations that spark imagination and capture young readers’ attention.

Whatever your story is, I'm here to bring it to life, although I must confess that my favourites are the ones with animal characters, especially if they have a touch of humour and friendliness.

I share colored sketches early in the process so you’ll have a clear idea of the final artwork from the start. With my graphic design background, I also offer layout advice to ensure a seamless flow between text and images. I’m very organized, flexible and easy to work with, adapting to your vision and needs.

When I’m not drawing, I enjoy dancing to country music, walking in nature, swimming, or gardening. If you’re looking for engaging, child-friendly illustrations that will captivate your audience, let’s connect—I’d love to collaborate with you!
