Germano Ovani – Designer

I’m Germano, an Italian freelance illustrator based in Edinburgh. I graduated from Academy of Fine Arts in Urbino, Italy, then I got a MA in Illustration in Aberystwyth, University of Wales, UK.

I visualize first ideas with simple sketches made by pencil on paper. When I am happy with the idea and the composition, I make a final, accurate sketch that I show to the client .

I use watercolours and/or Photoshop CC to colour the illustrations.

The client is always part of the whole process, and the client's feedback is essential to develop the ideas and bring them from initial sketches to final illustrations. Comunication and transparency play a fundamental role in achiving the final result that have to be satisfactory for both the client and myself.

I approach every commission as a new challenge, where my experience meets the client expectation to deliver a unique result.
