Christopher A – Editor

NYT #1 bestselling author & book coach (Hachette, Penguin Random House). I'll help you write a gripping book of your own.

Overview

I've spent almost 20 years coaching New York Times and Sunday Times bestselling authors across multiple genres on both sides of the Atlantic.

Working directly for individuals, or via publishers - most recently Hachette and Penguin Random House - I've helped rock stars establish their legacies, CEOs position themselves as thought leaders, and first-time novelists find their voice.

My publicly credited work has included coaching Ozzy Osbourne on his recent #1 New York Times bestseller, 'Last Rites.'

Under NDA, I've coached:

* A prominent media executive writing their first novel, sold for high six-figures to major publishing house

* An iconic corporate maverick writing a how-to book on marketing, self-published by their own company

* A singer writing a memoir about the audition that changed their life, turning them into a global celebrity, published globally by major publishing houses

* A feminist icon writing about trauma and nonconformity, published globally by major publishing houses

My guidance as a coach comes from deep personal experience as an author, screenwriter and senior editor at titles including The Sunday Times Magazine (London) and British GQ.

My own books include the critically acclaimed memoir 'War Reporting for Cowards' about my time as an embed with the U.S. Marines in Iraq.

As a longstanding member of the Writers Guild of America, I've also written and produced TV pilots for networks including CBS and Apple TV+, co-leading small writing rooms as a Creator/EP at the development stage.

Previously I was the LA Bureau Chief for The Times of London. I also wrote and edited a long-running column with Ozzy for Rolling Stone.

I'll help you discover what your book is really about, organize it, and shape it into something that readers can't put down — making it stand out to literary agents, publishers, even studios and streamers looking to adapt books for screen.

My approach is warm, practical, and focused on results. You'll get clear, actionable feedback, guidance on structure and voice, realistic timelines and help meeting your own deadlines.

I'll also share insights on how literary representation, publishing deals and Hollywood options work — and the pros and cons of self-publishing.

Ultimately, I'll give you all the tools you need to bring a book into the world that you're very proud of.

Let's get started!
