Overview
At Yale University Press, I edited academic and trade nonfiction books in the humanities and social sciences, with a focus on history. I've helped authors through all stages of the publishing process, from drafting a compelling book proposal to developmental edits on that first manuscript draft, copy editing, and proofreading. I've also helped many writers who are not native English speakers improve the clarity and flow of their writing.
My editorial services will vary depending on where you are in your writing process and what type of help you’re looking for. If you are in the early stages, I will be happy to review your work with an eye toward the big picture, looking at things like structure and organization, presentation of ideas, and market potential. If you’re on a later draft, I can offer a complete line edit that will focus on the mechanics of your writing, ensuring every sentence is grammatically correct and polished. My copy edits will be clearly indicated in the track changes, and I will leave comments to make more general suggestions and clarify any questions I have.
People generally find me to be a pleasant, detail-oriented, and committed person to work with, and I hope you'll think so too. I can't wait to hear about your project!

"Christina was a great editor to my manuscript. Her editing was very extensive which made the ideas in my paper clear and flow very well. What I like about her work is that when I had sentences that were not clear, she would clarify it but at the same make some suggestions for me. She sounded like she knew about the topic that I wrote in my paper; hence, she asked very intelligent questions in her edits." - Andrew Reyes, author of Asian American Women's Resilience: An Integrative Review
