Overview
I’m a veteran editor with vast experience in nonfiction of all types, from memoir to autobiography, and biography to illustrated pop-culture titles. I’ve had a blast collaborating with many artists in my career, especially musicians like James Hetfield, 50 Cent, and Nikki Sixx, nurturing their strong concepts into powerful books.
With James Hetfield, it was turning a collection of innovative photographs of his most treasured guitars into a visual autobiography complete with personal essays and detailed contributions from those who helped him along the way. With 50 Cent, it was focusing on his vivid origin story, which became the foundation of the hit feature film Get Rich or Die Tryin’. With Nikki Sixx, it was turning long lost diary entries from the darkest period of his life into a robust oral history featuring the voices of Nikki and the many colorful people around him during that time.
While I’m a geek for music, it is not my sole passion. I love storytelling and am an engaged collaborator who will process your story with intense enthusiasm, helping you shape it both conceptually and in terms of the line by line writing. I relish getting into the weeds to ensure that your narrative sings. Whatever it is you’re hoping to do, if I’m the right fit, I’ll help you hone your idea into the best work it can be.
