Overview
I'm an independent journalist based in New York City formerly with Time magazine in Hong Kong. I write about American politics and democratic struggles, mostly. You can also find my work in The New York Times, The Washington Post, New York Magazine, and more.
From reporting to writing to editing to copyediting, I have worked at every stage of the editorial process. Working in the Time newsroom, knowing the style and grammar guide was a prerequisite (nothing says unprofessional like a typo). As someone whose name is attached to all of my writing, I know how important is it to maintain flawless copy.
As a journalist who’s worked around the world for almost a decade, I’m an extremely nimble editor who’s written about a variety of subjects, including American politics, climate change, Asia-Pacific, arts and culture. Politics and history are specialities, but I also love fiction, especially a good romance or coming-of-age story.
