I’m a book designer and art director with 10+ years experience, having worked in-house at two very different publishing companies (Ten Speed Press/Penguin Random House and Callisto Media). In those jobs I learned every aspect of book design, print production, and art direction along the way and collaborated frequently with editorial, marketing, sales, and production teams.I am at home with just about any non-fiction genre, including cookbooks, self-help, business, and memoir, as well as picture books and other types of children's titles.Whether the book is a complex cookbook or a text-driven narrative, I love to bring a manuscript to life by creating a layout that is beautiful but easy to navigate. I work closely with authors to find the right look and feel for their words.The cover is the most important selling tool for a book: it must quickly convey what's inside and needs to draw in a reader immediately, whether they are searching online or browsing in a bookstore.
