Brian Vos

Brian Vos – Editor

I'm an acquisitions editor with more than 20 years of publishing experience, specializing in business, Christian non-fiction, and self-help.

Overview

As an acquisitions editor at a traditional publisher, I help high-achieving authors publish books that drive results. Over the last twenty years, I've had the privilege of signing authors to book contracts, including two New York Times bestselling authors, and helping authors craft messages that change lives.

In my consultations and edits I offer suggestions to make manuscripts amazing for the intended reader and to maximize sales. In general terms, I’m working at the level of the book as a whole painting. At the end of the day, it’s about content that drives better results faster for you and your organization.

My strengths include a deep understanding of what motivates a reader to buy and read a book, as well as the ability to explain how to craft a book that people are begging to buy.

And I'm happiest when I'm working with authors and creatives who share my vision for messages that change lives and that make the world a better place.

While in this position we developed a new web strategy for Baker Publishing Group and published a new corporate website and new websites for each division of Baker Publishing Group. In addition to building consensus around a web strategy that served many divisions and departments, I implemented the strategy by managing the programming, editorial, design, and hosting teams.

Brian is tops all the way around! This is my second book but my first time working with Brian. Night and day difference from my first editor experience. One of the best things Brian did for my book was to confidently state the changes he believed needed to be made. While I didn't agree with all of them, it's exactly the kind of editing I want put forward. Great guy! Great editor!
