Overview
In an often stuffy scholarly publishing environment, authors enjoy working with me because of my practical approach to copyediting and proofreading. No mysteries, useful style guidance, and friendly, nonconfrontational feedback.
Since 1994 I've been a full-time editorial freelancer, mostly working for university and theological presses: presently Yale, Oxford, Fordham, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, and others on the university side, and Orbis, Westminster John Knox, Sophia Institute, Crossroad, and others among theological publishers. Through the universities, I work on books that cover a wide range of topics. I also work for a number of national and regional nonprofits.
I've been proofreading and editing professionally since the 1980s. In my early career, I wrote and edited business and insurance textbooks and while still in my twenties was the lead editor at the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta.
I've also worked for trade publisher HCI Books on many volumes, including during the early years of the Chicken Soup for the Soul series.

Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta
Edited the Atlanta Fed's Economic Review, newsletters, and seventy-fifth anniversary volume. Managed an editorial assistant and two graphic designers.

Writing, editing, and directing the production of university-level curriculum and examination materials for the FLMI Insurance Education Program, at the time the world's largest self-study business/insurance education program.
