Overview
In an often stuffy scholarly publishing environment, authors enjoy working with me because of my practical approach to copyediting and proofreading. No mysteries, useful style guidance, and friendly, nonconfrontational feedback.
Since 1994 I've been a full-time editorial freelancer, mostly working for university and theological presses: presently Yale, Oxford, Fordham, NYU, and others on the university side, and Orbis, Crossroad, Westminster John Knox, and others among theological publishers. Through the universities, I work on books that cover a wide range of topics.
I've been proofreading and editing professionally since the 1980s. in my early career, I wrote and edited business and insurance textbooks and while still in my twenties was the lead editor at the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta.
I've also worked for trade publisher HCI Books on many volumes, including the very early years of the Chicken Soup for the Soul series.
Oh, yeah: I love basset hounds.

I have been providing copyediting and proofreading services to university, theological, business, and trade presses—and self-publishers—since 1994. I indexed also from 1996 to 2021 and am starting to do so again.
