Blondine Leon-Broers

Blondine Leon-Broers – Editor

An experienced and friendly developmental editor/proofreader passionate about helping writers bring out the best in their children's books.

Overview

A native New Yorker, my love for books was sparked at a very young age. As a child, I became captivated by the stories that flowed through the pages of many incredible books. Today, as an editor, my reading experience is further enriched when I am privileged to collaborate with those who strive to create captivating stories. A few elements that I have assisted first-time authors in developing include:

• Creating believable and compelling characters, conflicts and plots to connect to readers

• Ensuring story’s pacing is evenly balanced between action and information

• Using showing and telling effectively

• Limiting cliché usage

Specializing in editing children's books—from picture books to middle grade—I enjoy helping first-time writers and experienced authors take their manuscripts to the next level! I am a hardworking, meticulous editor who takes great pride in her work.

Note: Although I do enjoy reading stories written in rhymes and poetry, I do not edit them.
