A friendly, insightful and highly-organised freelance editor, I offer a range of editing services: editorial assessment (guidance on initial proposals); development editing (structure and sense); copy-editing (style and grammar) and proofreading (typos and formatting errors). Previous experience includes commissioning higher education reference grammars, geography textbooks, law coursebooks and project managing textbooks with digital components. I specialise in educational textbooks but also enjoy learning about new subject areas and would love to help with projects in any subject area - after all, variety is the spice of life! I worked in-house for ten years for three different publishers, liaising with academics in the UK and globally, commissioning and project managing across a variety of subjects: languages (French, Spanish, German, Russian), linguistics, law, media, geography and psychology. Other topics included: sport, self-help, well-being and careers. Many of the titles I worked on included four-colour artwork and digital components, including audio.I am also a qualified teacher of French and Spanish and have a good understanding of curriculum requirements in the UK in these subject areas. I have a CELTA (Cambridge English Language Teaching to Adults) qualification, at grade A, and teach English to adults.
