Being a native bilingual shaped my relationship with language from an early age. I have a strong ear for context across registers, audiences, and cultural frames.

While I’m new to Reedsy, I’ve been working at the intersection of English and Spanish since the late 1990s. I have translated bestselling and highly rated English titles to Spanish for publishers such as Grupo Planeta México, Penguin Random House México, and Ediciones SM, as well as scholarly work published in English by the University of Arizona Press.

From 2016 to 2024, I worked as a freelance translator and editor on large-scale educational and nonfiction projects via Macmillan Publishing Solutions (now OWL Learning), collaborating with publishers including McGraw-Hill Education, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, Cengage, and National Geographic Learning. Much of this work was delivered under standard publishing NDAs.

I’m comfortable with long-form projects over extended timelines. Clients value my availability during revision stages, my prompt responsiveness to queries, and my willingness to think through problems together as the text takes shape. I work best with authors who care about clarity, voice, and reader experience.

Besides translating, I write short nonfiction on Substack and make handmade zines, sometimes in English, sometimes in Spanish.
