Bartosz Szymkiewicz – Designer

Hi! I’m Bartosz and I’m a graphic designer based in Warsaw, Poland. I have a 19-year experience and currently work at my design practice. In my work, I focus on multiple areas – one of them being book covers.

I started my design career with freelance jobs while still in university. I’ve created concert posters, record covers, logos and visual identities. I always loved music and designing record covers drove me to graphic design. After graduating I began working in a design studio where among other subjects I’ve designed books, reports and magazines. Since 2015 I have worked at my design practice where I design brand identities, book and record covers and numerous other subjects for print and digital usage.

I place great emphasis on typography and precision. I love developing design systems and series. It’s a big but rewarding challenge to foresee all aspects of future series instalments. I treat all elements of the cover with equal care. For me, the back cover, spine, flaps and details such as barcode are just as important as the front cover.

I believe in honesty, in life and design. I approach each project individually and work closely with the client to create a solution that will stand the test of time. My projects always have a strong underlying idea that informs the design.
