Overview
I fuse my traditional illustration background with almost 25 years working as a character animator in video games to give my work a uniquely dynamic look. I've lead art teams working on many different IPs from Disney, Warner Brothers, Electronic Arts and Marvel to name a few. I understand working with an existing vision, enhancing it, but also staying true to it.
With so much entertainment competing for everybody's attention nowadays, I only have a few seconds to grab any viewer's attention. So my artwork is eye-catching, bold and clear to read. I love to illustrate high contrast, graphic, yet highly-detailed drawings with vibrant colors.
I like working in stages with clients to deliver a high quality project that we'd both be excited about. It's important for me to get as much specific detail to begin the rough thumbnail stage. Once something is on paper, it's easier to discuss what's working and refine it into a black and white or simple color stage to make sure the key elements pop out. From there the final coloring will serve to enhance legibility, focus and what's already working even more. By getting approval in different stages of a project, we can get a really great product with no surprises!
