Overview

I'm Ariell Cacciola, the publisher and editorial director of Wild Hunt Books, an exciting publishing house in South London. With more than ten years in different roles in the publishing and writing world, I understand it can be very personal and difficult to let another person read your work. Your manuscript will be treated with respect, care and confidentiality.

As an editor, I am happy to work with manuscripts that are literary and commercial fiction. Adult or young adult (YA) fitting within any genre, but I have added specialities in literary, general fiction, horror, magical realism, thriller and mystery.

I approach my assessments and development in three ways based on you and your work-in-progress. My goal is for you to have actionable feedback on your manuscript whether you've completed your draft or you're still writing.

1. Full Manuscript Assessment Report : You’ve reached the end and now you need an objective professional to read and evaluate your draft. I will review your manuscript’s structure, plot, narrative, pacing, character development, dialogue and writing quality. This report is for the writer in need of an extensive look at your complete manuscript. Is the manuscript working from beginning to end?

2. Long Extract Report : A large part of your book is under your belt but you want to check in with someone else. Let’s look at what can be improved and what’s working and what may not be working at all, but also a few more important points like pace, plot and narrative.

3. Short Extract Report : Wow, you have that brand spanking new work-in-progress! How exciting. But deep down you’re worried that something isn’t working or the character’s voice is a simply not right. Breathe. I’m here to help. I’ll have a look at your beginning: what’s working and what could be better.

Are you looking for something more? I also provide developmental editing. This is for writers who might be struggling with large structural issues or overall narrative elements. Perhaps, you want more granule feedback on your manuscript and page-by-page annotations in addition to an editorial report. Let's chat if a developmental edit is right for your book.

Query Letters: Are you ready to approach agents with your completed manuscript? Get in touch about how I can help review your query letter and/or synopsis.

I am a wide and voracious reader and editor, and ready to help you at any stage of your work-in-progress.

Ariell is like a patient teacher with a lot of tools in her kitty to calm down an overconfident and impatient writer like me. While my query letter / theme drew interest from a prestigious NY literary agent, having seen issues pointed out by Ariell in the manuscript including characterisation, plot logistics (specifically scenes which lacked believability) and dialogues I'm pretty sure it'll no...
