April Crane

April Crane – Editor

I have over 15 years of experience editing educational content and developing curriculum at companies including Disney and Google.

Overview

I would like to introduce myself and discuss how my experience and expertise could benefit your project or organization.

I have over 15 years of editing, writing, project management, and curriculum-development experience at such companies as Disney, Google, Social Studies School Service, Wonder Workshop, ALO7, and Glencoe/McGraw-Hill. I have developed content across multiple subject areas, including English language learning, digital skills, social studies, coding and robotics, career education, music, visual arts, drama, and health.

As a senior editor at Disney Publishing Worldwide, Social Studies School Service, Wonder Workshop, and ALO7, I managed the curriculum and content development process, which included content editing, copyediting, proofreading, writing, and project management. Projects included teacher materials and app scripts for Disney Learning, the social studies textbook, Young Citizens: Encounter, activities and workbooks for ALO7’s Genius English and Wise English ELL programs, and digital coding and robotics lessons for Wonder Workshop.

In my role as a senior writer for Google Applied Digital Skills program, I developed and edited video scripts, readings, lesson plans, and other educational materials to teach digital skills through project-based learning in the Google suite of apps.

I am experienced in using the Chicago Manual of Style and adhering to project-specific style guidelines and formats. You can find samples of my work and references on my LinkedIn page, and I look forward to the opportunity to speaking with you regarding your project!
