Amy Feldman

Amy Feldman – Editor

Editor with seven years' experience specialising in UK travel and social history, currently working at the National Trust.

Overview

I am an experienced editor of non-fiction illustrated books and guidebooks. I have been involved in the Publishing industry since 2009, working in marketing (Polity Press, Bloomsbury Publishing) before becoming an Editor for the National Trust in 2013.

I particularly love social history and travel, but can work with most genres. Not at my desk? I'm probably rollerskating - a roller derby player when contact sports are allowed, my attitude to editing is quite similar to my sport: hard work and training always pays off, keep going til it's as good as you can get it, teamwork makes the dream work*, and you do your best when you're having fun too. *Sorry for the cliché - I promise I try to avoid those normally...

I'm also the author of several books and guidebooks and so understand what it's like to have your work edited from the other side. I am always mindful of this when I'm editing, and aim to always treat authors and their manuscripts as I would want mine to be.

As well as industry experience, I have also completed the Publishing Training Centre Copy-editing course, passing with merit. I also have an MA in Publishing from City University, London (Distinction, including winning the Macmillan award for Best Student Work).

Looking forward to working with you!
