Overview
Hey! I'm Amanda, an Eisner-nominated editor of comics, games, and novels. In the past 14 years, I’ve joyfully acquired and produced 4-color books inside and alongside publishers of every size, like Penguin Random House, HarperCollins, Delcourt, Wizards of the Coast, Lion Forge, Oni Press, and many a literary agency. The books I’ve worked on have starred reviews by PW, Kirkus, Booklist, School Library Journal, and more. The comics authors I’ve worked with have gone on to secure representation and sell their books to major publishers.
Expect an enthusiastic collaborator looking for every opportunity to deepen your work's impact. I’m here to help you craft story worlds and info-rich resources that engage your audience, whether they’re your loving fanbase or a prospective agent. My feedback is designed for you to confidently apply within your means of effort and resources. Services include…
- Query letter review
- Developmental editing
- Editorial assessment - full completed work
- Editorial assessment - incomplete story, manuscript, layouts, pencils
There’s no one approach to any of the above, so my process starts with you and your material. We work closely at the start to set goals and expectations for your needs. Whether we’re revising a query letter or starting a new manuscript from scratch, I build a shared sense of accountability for your project with tailored timelines and gently challenge you with feedback that is relevant and actionable.
My genre focuses have been Science Fiction, Fantasy, LGBTQIA+ Studies, Food & Lifestyle, Role Playing Games, Middle Grade, and Young Adult Fiction, but I am open to related genres and subgenres.
