Overview
I'm Alison, a ghostwriter specializing in authoritative books for entrepreneurs and executives, with a primary focus on healthcare and wellness. I enjoy turning complex ideas into clear, human-centered stories that resonate with readers.
I began my career as an international journalist in Berlin before transitioning into strategic communications as the communications and media relations manager for EFPIA, the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries & Associations, in Brussels. EFPIA is where I first began writing for healthcare leaders.
In 2015, I began focusing fully on ghostwriting. Since then, I've worked on 30+ books, including multiple award winners and Amazon bestsellers, and I regularly collaborate with high-profile publishers like Forbes Books.
I have a Professional Writing Certificate from Georgetown University, a BA in English from McGill University, and an MA in Comparative Literature from the Freie Universität Berlin. When I'm not writing, I'm reading or bingeing medical dramas.
Every book is unique, so the process may differ depending on your needs. In general, it looks something like this:
(1.) Strategy Session/Book Roadmap
The strategy session goes deeper into the purpose and content of your book. Who is the target audience? What are your goals? Once I understand what success looks like for your book, I develop a Book Roadmap. This is a chapter-by-chapter outline for your book, covering core topics and key messages, organized in a cohesive way according to an overarching narrative.
(2.) Writing Your Book
With the Book Roadmap as a guide, I write your manuscript, chapter by chapter. Typically, we talk through one chapter per week on a 90-minute Zoom call. The basic process: We talk; I write; you review; I revise as needed. Repeat until ... You've got a book!

How do you build an understanding of your client’s voice and vision for their project?
I always incorporate a vision call into the process. This takes place before we've written any of the manuscript and helps me understand exactly what the client's vision and goals are.
