Alice N – Editor

I am a highly skilled editorial professional with over 19 years’ experience working on both fiction and non-fiction, illustrated and mono books. I have worked for many major publishers and organisations in the UK and with a wide range of well-known authors. I am an organised and efficient project manager who is used to working to tight deadlines and under pressure through all aspects of the publishing process. I structurally edit, copyedit and proofread. I love working with authors.

I have worked for the following publishers: Penguin Random House, Orion Books, Faber & Faber, Titan Books, Hay House and Story Terrace. Genres include: pop culture, biography, memoir, self-help, music, history, narrative quest, crime, sci-fi, fantasy, film and TV tie-ins, gift and humour and children's books.

Currently I work mostly on memoirs, art books, business books, personal development books and fiction. My last in-house role was publisher for the Hayward Gallery, working on large-scale illustrated art books and prior to that I worked on similar books for the British Museum. I project managed the bestselling book that accompanied the sell-out Manga exhibition.

I have also worked for many charities and not-for-profit organisations as a freelance project manager, editor and proofreader. Most recently: the International Institute for the Enviroment and Development, World Animal Protection and First Story.
