Overview
Editing is such a collaborate process, and as an independently published author myself, I know what it's like to pour a lot of heart and effort into a manuscript. I work with authors by first getting a complete understanding of their story and the inspiration behind it before diving into editing. I think it's important to always keep an author's goals in mind to be sure their story is improved as much as possible. Since I have worked as an editor in both the commercial and self-publishing fields, I have a wealth of knowledge on the publishing process that I'm happy to share with clients as I edit their work.

Editorial and publishing services company
Manage complex publication schedules for both fiction and nonfiction books. Work with authors and publishing clients to create outstanding titles in a variety of genres. Facilitate communication between internal staff, freelancers, and clients, ensuring the publishing process goes smoothly and stays on track. Edit and proofread manuscripts while also assisting with cover and interior design.
Kaiser Permanente
Edited marketing materials to ensure they followed style guidelines for both online and print media. Proofread content for accuracy and consistency for both direct-to-consumer and business audiences. Collaborated with creative team to produce documents that exhibited high quality and adherence to brand voice. Oversaw multifaceted editing and proofreading schedules to deliver finished projects on time.
Allegory Ridge
Created online magazine to feature the writing, artwork, and photography of the millennial generation. Devised the magazine's branding, voice, design, and built the company website. Seek out contributors, pitch stories to authors, and keep the magazine's content calendar organized and updated. Editor of all content that is posted on the website. Manager of the magazine's social media channels. Evaluate submissions that come in through our online portal and make final decisions on what is published. Plans and executes publication of two print issues per year, dealing with magazine design, content, contributors, vendors, and distributors.
Becker & Mayer
Managed multiple publication projects for both fiction and non-fiction titles, overseeing everything from copyediting to cover design. Edited and proofread manuscripts to ensure high-quality narratives with no inconsistencies or errors. Supervised a diverse team of freelance editors, assigning them projects and handling any issues that came up. Corresponded directly with our publishing clients, facilitating communication between freelancers, editors, and authors.
Expedia
Wrote and edited content that was published on under the Things to Do tab. Created original copy for city tours, multi-day excursions, outdoor activities, and hiking trips. Edited pre-existing content to match company's voice and style guidelines. Proofread descriptive content and ensured that logistical information was correct.
Red City Review
Managing director, founded company, created website, logo, materials, procedures, etc. Wrote book reviews for authors, posting them to our website, social media accounts, and other media platforms. Ran annual book award contest, judging and reviewing hundreds of books entered from around the world. Assigned projects to a staff of over twenty freelancers, while in charge of overseeing all website operations. Served as the main liaison of the company, handling all communications with clients and customers. Editor of the Red City Review Magazine. Successfully sold company after building its reputation and reach for over four years.
Dorrance Publishing
Created publishing proposals and sold contracts to authors to have their books published by Dorrance. Updated client files as they moved forward with publishing, facilitating communication with the production department. Served as an important representative of the company, speaking with both domestic and international authors. Edited selected manuscripts for punctuation, grammar, spelling, and consistency. Wrote original content for company’s blog and managed all social media channels.
