Carey Jones

Carey Jones – Editor

I am an editor who loves helping authors revise and refine their work so it is clear, precise, and ready for publication.

Overview

Carey cut her editing teeth at Chronicle Books, where she worked for nearly 10 years on a wide range of topics, from parenting to travel to food, and on a variety of formats, from books to stationery to specialty gift products. After Chronicle, she attended culinary school, and following stints in the food world (prep cook, caterer, recipe developer, personal chef), she returned to editing as a freelancer. Carey’s favorite part of editing is acting as a new set of eyes for authors when they are too close to their own writing and can’t see the forest for the trees (or the trees for the forest). She loves the serial comma, the em-dash, and well-placed puns.
