I'm an experienced desk editor with a demonstrated history of working in the industry across fiction and
non-fiction for half a decade. I have excellent editing and proofreading skills, with an impeccable eye for detail and a thorough understanding of the English language, ensuring consistency and clarity while maintaining the
author’s or client’s unique style.
I’m a great multitasker and am well used to managing several projects at once, as well as communicating and liaising with authors directly.
My time-management and prioritization skills are excellent, and I can work quickly and efficiently to tight deadlines without an issue.
I enjoy working across a variety of genres, including contemporary fiction, women's fiction, literary fiction, classics, crime/thriller, romantic comedy, children's, young adult, narrative non-fiction, self-help, essays and short stories.

Work experience

•Copy-editing, proofreading, collating proofs and checking revises.
•Commissioning and managing freelancers: copyeditors, proofreaders, indexers and project editors for assigned titles and quality checking their work.
•Project managing new titles from the Adult list, including key/big brand authors. Overseeing all elements, including plate sections, indexes and covers; liaising with editors, authors, Production and Design; keeping assigned titles to schedule and on budget.
•Chasing editors for overdue material, text and artwork and updating Production and Design with key dates.
•Liaising with authors.
•Monitoring and chasing due/outstanding material to ensure the Editorial team meets key critical path dates.
•Checking cover artwork from proofs through to final files for allocated titles.
•Editing cover copy and liaising with Editorial on any changes.

•Physical and digital proofreading using traditional BSI and Adobe mark-up.
