I am an independent Book Designer and Photography Director, with 24 years of experience in publishing. My client list includes BenBella Books, Dacapo Press, FW Media, Galvanized Media, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, Hearst, Quarto, Random House, Reader's Digest, Rockpoint, Rodale (Men's & Women's Health and Organic Gardening), Sourcebooks, Scribe Media and Sterling.
My front cover designs are $1250 for 3-6 cover options with 2 rounds of revisions. Full cover template set up with back cover an additional $250. Interior design/layout starts at $2500 for black, simple, text-only manuscripts up to 40,000 words, and goes up from there based on word count and manuscript complexity (images, charts, graphics, 4-color, etc).

As a Senior Book Designer I was responsible for the conceptual development of book covers and interiors. I produced designs that were marketable and that enhanced the editorial product and managed and art directed all the illustration and photography within.
I have comprehensive knowledge 4-color prepress and printing technology, and expert knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.
