Tallulah Lyons

Tallulah Lyons – Editor

Romance and commercial fiction editor with over six years experience working at Penguin Random House and Hachette.

Overview

Specialising in adult fiction, I bring almost ten years of experience from two of the UK’s leading publishing houses - Penguin Random House and Hachette. My favourite part of the process is the first edit: reading a manuscript with fresh eyes and feeling the spark of something special taking shape.

Editing is a partnership, and I’m a strong believer that the best editor–author relationships are built on trust, mutual respect, and a shared love for the story being told. Whether it’s refining plot points, deepening character arcs, or sharpening pacing, I’m here to help make your story the strongest version of itself. I always say: This is your book. My role is to help you make it shine.

Here’s what colleagues and published authors have said about working with me:

‘Tallulah edits with precision and editorial integrity. Her ability to elevate my manuscript without compromising voice or vision was not only invaluable, but rare. She brings an intuitive understanding of what a work needs to truly resonate.’ - Abigail Bergstrom, author of What a Shame and Selfish Girls

‘You’re only as good as the people around you, and the passion Tallulah had for the story I was trying to tell were one of the main reasons why I wanted to work with her on The Situationship. It was incredibly clear from the start that she genuinely loved and cared for the characters as much as I did, which for a writer, is simply a dream come true. She constantly championed my work and helped me gain the confidence to trust in my voice and abilities, and believed in me more than I did myself at times! I’m so glad I got to start my publishing journey with someone like Tallulah in my corner.’ - Taylor-Dior Rumble, author of The Situationship

‘I cannot recommend Tallulah more highly. Her edits are consistently thoughtful, ambitious and sensitive. Her ability to connect with authors and help them realise the potential of their stories is a pleasure to behold.’ - Oliver Grant, Manager of Original Books at Audible

’Tallulah is a fantastic editor. She always understands exactly what I need from a project, with a level of detail that reflects her immense passion for author care and reader experience. I have complete confidence in her work and continue to recommend her without hesitation to colleagues.’ - Amy Baxter, Editorial Director at Harper Collins
